Supplier Quality Engineer | Holt, MI

Salary Range: $80,000 - $113,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement supplier quality improvement plans.
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define supplier quality requirements for new product development.
• Monitor and report on key supplier quality performance metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance product quality and reliability.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in quality engineering, supplier quality, or a related role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis).
• Demonstrated ability to conduct supplier audits and assessments.
• Experience with various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, assembly, casting, injection molding).

Bonus Qualifications

• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or other relevant ASQ certification
• Experience with advanced quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and MSA
• Strong data analysis skills, including proficiency with statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
• Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa)
• Familiarity with various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, casting, injection molding, electronics assembly)
