As a Parts Associate
, you will play a crucial role in delivering outstanding customer service by assisting customers with their parts needs, processing orders accurately, and maintaining inventory levels. You'll be an essential part of our Parts Department, ensuring that every customer leaves with the right product and an excellent experience.
Customer Service
- Greet and assist customers both in-person and over the phone with parts inquiries.
- Provide expert recommendations based on customer equipment needs.
- Process customer orders promptly and accurately.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through exceptional service.
- Work with vendors to order parts and ensure timely delivery.
- Verify the accuracy of incoming orders and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of customer and equipment data for future reference.
- Stay up-to-date on construction equipment parts and components, researching alternatives when needed.
- Ensure pricing accuracy on purchase orders and invoices.
- Receive, inspect, and organize incoming parts shipments.
- Maintain inventory records, including part numbers and pricing.
- Assist with annual inventory audits.
- Keep organized records of parts transactions, invoices, and receipts.
- Generate reports on sales, inventory, and other key metrics to aid in decision-making.
- Assist the Parts Manager with various department-related tasks and projects.
- Help improve the department's presentation through displays and merchandising.
- Multitask and adapt as needed to handle multiple issues efficiently.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (additional technical training is a plus).
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within the construction equipment industry is highly desirable.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction equipment parts and components is preferred.
- Skills:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Typing speed of 30 WPM or higher.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs regularly, over 100 lbs occasionally).
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach.
- Vision abilities required include close and distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Other:
- Valid driver's license.
- Willing to become forklift certified.
