This position is available as either part-time or full-time, based on the candidate's preference. 2-3 shifts per week, 12 hours on Day Shift. 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Charge Nurse provides clinical leadership and coordination for the Inpatient Acute and Emergency Departments, supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care in our rural Critical Access Hospital and Level IV Trauma Emergency Department. This position serves as a daily leader and role model for the nursing team, promoting a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment. During times of high patient census the Charge Nurse will also provide hands-on patient care.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), required.
  • Current Registered Nurse License issued by the Kansas State Board of Nursing, or multi-state compact license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification, and Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) Certification are required. Can obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Must have at least 2 years of previous hands on experience in the Emergency Department (preferred), or Acute Nursing (required).
  • Previous experience in Charge Nurse role, preferred.
