We're Looking For

We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer to join our Advanced Locationing Technology (ALT) R&D team. In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, testing, and integration of next‑generation RF and locationing products. You will work closely with senior engineers to analyze test results, establish design requirements, and evaluate new hardware prototypes using state‑of‑the‑art RF measurement equipment. This is a hybrid position requiring on‑site work at our office in Holtsville, NY, for a minimum of three days a week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to establish baseline requirements for electrical engineering and RF design projects.
  • Participate in all phases of the hardware design lifecycle, from initial concept and schematic capture to prototyping, testing, and final integration.
  • Perform rigorous RF and hardware test setups, debugging, and verification on new product prototypes.
  • Analyze system and process performance, interpreting test data to recommend actionable solutions and design improvements to key stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for new R&D projects and review historical test data.
  • Explore and evaluate the latest RF technologies, components, and methodologies to drive innovation in existing and future product lines.
  • Assist in reviewing engineering change orders (ECOs), schematic updates, and test procedure modifications for existing designs.
  • Exercise independent judgment within defined practices to determine the most effective methods and techniques for solving complex technical assignments.
Job Requirements
  • For New Graduates: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Must have completed core coursework or academic projects related to RF design, electromagnetics, or circuit analysis.
  • For Experienced Candidates: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant engineering discipline with 1+ years of hands‑on professional experience in electrical engineering, hardware design, or RF testing.
Position‑Specific Requirements & Technical Skills
  • Core Focus: RF Test Setup, Hardware Debugging, System Integration, and Prototype Validation.
  • Hardware & Instrumentation: Hands‑on experience or academic proficiency operating advanced lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power meters. Preferred: network analyzers and signal generators.
  • Desirable Skills (Optional but a plus):
    • Familiarity with RF simulation/design tools (e.g., Keysight ADS)
    • Knowledge of RFID reader technologies (back scattering, self‑jamming cancellation)
    • Exposure to wireless communication standards (Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, 5G)

Pay Range

$68,400.00 – $ (annual)

Annual Incentive Compensation

In addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance‑based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 5% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
