We are a 120-bed not-for-profit nursing facility offering advanced healthcare while providing skilled nursing and rehabilitative services for both long and short term residents. Located on eight beautiful landscaped acres, we also provide sub-acute services, wound care and respite services.

We are currently seeking full-time Staffing Coordinator who will embody the passion and commitment required to deliver the ultimate care for our residents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess 3-5 years experience staffing in a health care setting. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency. Associates Degree preferred. The Staffing Coordinator must possess strong computer skills with the ability to type 45-55wpm. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to handle heavy phones in a fast paced environment. Must possess ability to interact professionally with Nursing Management/Supervisory staff.

Must ensure adequate and accurate staffing schedules for all units within the facility. Must be a self-starter and work independently and efficiently without direct supervision and minimal direction. Must be able to multi-task and interact interpersonally with all levels of nursing staff.
Smart Linx 6 experience a plus.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for staffing /scheduling all support nursing personnel. The Staffing Coordinator ensures the appropriate staffing par levels in an efficient and accurate manner. Provides direct administrative skills/support within the nursing administrative offices when required. Ensures all payroll, “scan/punch” audits are done bi-weekly and forwarded to Director, Assistant Director and/or Management /Supervisory team as needed when problems are identified.

The Staffing Coordinator processes all related employee paperwork including but not limited to: change of employment statuses, job postings, staff requisition forms and separation of employment packets for Director of Nursing’s approval. The Staffing Coordinator ensures that all other related task as assigned are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Answers phones for the staffing/nursing office and processes messages as needed. Advises Nursing Management/Supervision when “call-ins” occur and begins replacement of staffing vacancy to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Assists with the nursing department’s payroll. Checks that attendance records are maintained. Advises Nursing Administrative assistant of any changes/problems.
  • Receives “call-ins”, and follows up with replacing staff as needed, to meet staffing needs. Returns all calls in a timely manner.
  • Assists in performing clerical typing/computer skills and support for the nursing office as needed.
  • Ability to prepare routine and periodic nursing reports as needed.
  • Capability to process all paperwork for new personnel and exiting for the nursing department sets up all necessary paperwork for employee files on an as needed basis.
  • Advises the Nursing Administrative Assistant of any changes in employment for generating change of status forms, separation packets and other related forms to forward to Human Resources for accurate & timely processing.
  • Advises Human Resources Department monthly of staffing vacancies (position control reports) to maintain adequate staffing requirements which ensures ability to provide quality care to the residents.
  • Initiates and completes staffing assignment pages each week for all shifts. Checks the staffing sheets for accuracy to assure staffing is sufficient.
  • Forwards a copy of the daily staffing patterns to Director of Nursing & Director of Finance/CFO.
