The Coordinator of Instructional Technology provides support and training for all aspects of the College’s instructional technology programming including the learning management system (LMS) and all other teaching and learning platforms and LTIs. As part of the Instructional Design and Technology team, this position supports faculty’s use of contemporary instructional methods and technology to enhance faculty professional development and support continual improvement of instruction s role reports to the Associate Director of Instructional Design and Technology.
Work collaboratively with faculty and staff in the Academic and Student Affairs Division in a ‘One Team’ dynamic to foster and enhance student success. In collaboration with members of the Instructional Design and Technology team, provide technological support to faculty and staff for the LMS and all other instructional technology platforms (LTIs). Develop institutional training materials, workshops, and other information programs to improve and streamline classroom learning in all modalities.
Provide advanced technical assistance to faculty and staff on all instructional technologies utilized by the College. In collaboration with members of the department and informed by faculty and staff feedback, facilitate workshops, provide training, and offer advanced technical assistance on all instructional technologies utilized by the College. Informed by faculty feedback, work with the department staff to develop new initiatives and provide on-going workshops and training in support of faculty professional development that will maximize faculty use of the LMS and associated tools.
Meet with faculty, staff, LMS personnel, and other vendors both on campus and via video conferencing. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all current HCC instructional technologies and an awareness of emerging technologies in higher education. Maintain up-to-date knowledge and provide assistance to faculty on UDL, ADA, and WCAG-related policies, tools, and practices for compliance. Hold workshops and trainings in multiple modalities through the College’s Learning Collaborative.
Perform College Service as required by the MCCC Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Masters degree in instructional technology, design, information technology or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Two (2) years of experience in academic/instructional technology.
- Experience supporting an institutional Learning Management System.
- Experience with multiple learning platforms for higher education.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work with diverse members of the College and higher education communities including faculty, staff, and administrators as well as external entities such as vendors and higher ed working groups.
