Adjunct Faculty Opportunities

Holyoke Community College invites adjunct applications to teach in the Psychology Department for the course:
Human Sexuality.

Course Times

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (Summer 2026 semester)

Reporting

Under the direction of the Academic Department Chair and/or Department Dean.

Responsibilities
  • The adjunct faculty member will distribute and review the course syllabus during the first class meeting and forward it to the dean no later than the end of the first week of classes in each session.
  • Utilize active learning methods and a variety of instructional strategies designed to assist learners in meeting the objectives of the course (e.g., cooperative learning, experiential learning, writing for learning, critical‑thinking initiatives).
  • Remain abreast of ongoing developments and practices in professional content area(s).
  • Arrange for the acquisition and preparation of appropriate materials and equipment in a timely manner necessary to meet course objectives in collaboration with the area dean.
  • Record and report student data accurately, including assessment of student performance and final grade reports.
  • Support students’ learning goals by focusing on learning outcomes, considering students’ needs and abilities, and becoming familiar with academic and social support.
  • Make reasonable provisions to accommodate individual differences.
  • Maintain the academic integrity of the college.
  • Be available to assist students in achieving their learning goals.
  • Recommend campus services to students as needed (library, financial aid, counseling, supplemental instruction, etc.).
  • Attend all scheduled classes; if a class must be missed, notify the supervisor or designee and provide an alternate assignment.
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree, preferably in Psychology.
  • College‑level teaching experience strongly preferred, along with community or workplace education/training experience.
  • Commitment to and demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
Adjunct Faculty, MCCC Unit Position

COMPENSATION: DCE $1,397.00 per credit; no benefits.
