ALANA Student Ambassadors provide peer-to-peer mentorship and support to a cohort of ALANA Scholars. They assist professional ALANA Mentors with program/workshop facilitation, outreach initiatives, planning of events, and community-building activities at Holyoke Community College. All ALANA Student Ambassadors are required to successfully complete a mandatory peer mentor training prior to beginning active responsibilities. ALANA Men in Motion is an equity-driven student success program within HCC’s SUCCESS Initiative that promotes academic achievement, personal growth, and belonging through mentorship, culturally responsive support, and community engagement.

The program centers the experiences of African American/Black, Latino/x, Asian, and Native American men while welcoming all eligible students committed to personal growth and collective support. Grounded in the core values of Empower, Elevate, and Excel, ALANA provides opportunities for students to build community, develop confidence, and support one another’s success. Student Ambassadors work closely with professional ALANA Mentors and are supervised by the Director of ALANA Men in Motion.
