The Coordinator of Apprenticeship Initiatives will serve within the Division of Integrative & Applied Learning and report to the Dean of I&AL. Funded by the Smith Family's Apprenticeship Degree Pathway Grant, this position supports Holyoke Community College's development and implementation of apprenticeship degree programs in three identified tracks:
Foundations of Health, Education, and Human Services.

The Coordinator will help advance grant goals by collaborating with faculty, department chairs, deans, the grants department, the Provost, the Division of Business and Community Services, and other HCC stakeholders to build apprenticeship pathways and employer partnerships. The role includes educating campus and community partners about apprenticeship models, supporting recruitment and enrollment processes, and helping expand apprenticeship opportunities across the College.

The Coordinator will also support students enrolled in apprenticeship degree programs by providing guidance, connecting them with career development resources, and helping them progress toward credential completion. This work will require strong organization, communication, and relationship-building with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and industry partners.

With support from the Dean of I&AL, program coordinators and chairs, advisory boards, and Academic and Student Affairs staff, the Coordinator will engage employers, strengthen feeder relationships with high schools and community-based organizations, and promote high-quality, equitable Career-Integrated Learning opportunities for HCC students.

Develops and delivers workshops to educate employers and community members on the apprenticeship model, its benefits for creating an employee pipeline, and how employers can participate.

Works in collaboration with the grant leadership team, the National Center for Apprenticeship Degree, Smith Family Foundation, Dean of I & AL, the Division of Business and Community Services, and the HCC community to develop and implement an employer recruiting strategy for apprenticeship programming with local employers and community organizations.

Engages employers and industry leaders in business development for apprenticeship degree programming opportunities.

Onboards new employer partners through program design and signing of LOI/MOU.

Maintains relationships with apprenticeship employer partners and updates documents/processes as needed.

Keeps a database of new, current, and prospective employer partners.

Collaborates with the Dean of I&A to design and disseminate materials for apprenticeship recruitment for the HCC Marketing Department.

Develops and delivers workshops and trainings for faculty seeking to embed apprenticeship experiences into their programs in collaboration with the Dean and the Division of Community-Engaged Learning staff.

Works with the Dean of I&AL and appropriate stakeholders of new apprenticeship programs and events, ensuring detailed program/event learning outcomes and assessment plans are developed and implemented.

Serves as a liaison, working with external and internal partners, staff, faculty and students; fielding issues, problems and complaints, and escalating or resolving them as needed.

Develops and implements a recruitment strategy for apprenticeship programming across HCC campus and with staff at participating employer partners and community organizations.

Manages, organizes and maintains all files of correspondence, reports, evaluations, resumes and other materials that pertain to apprenticeship grant programming.

Collaborate with the Division of Business and Community Services and other HCC staff to support apprenticeship grant programming by serving as a point of contact for employer partners, developing recruitment materials, and delivering workshops that educate students, staff, and faculty on the apprenticeship model.

Coordinates, schedules and delivers on-campus, employer site, and virtual apprenticeship information sessions to students and other MCC stakeholders, with the goal of increasing student/employee participation in apprenticeship opportunities.
