Supplemental Instruction Leader
Under the supervision of the Director of the Center for Academic Program Support (CAPS), Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leaders support HCC students in high-risk courses through weekly study sessions. CAPS is seeking SI Leaders in the following courses:
- BUS-115 Computer Applications
- ASL-101 American Sign Language I
- DFS-101 Introduction to Deaf Studies
Orientation and training are provided. On-the-job assistance and resources are available regularly. Employment dates:
August 24, 2026 through December 18, 2026.
provide extra SI sessions as necessary and meet with other SI Leaders and supervisory staff at scheduled meetings.
Required:
- Education:
Currently enrolled as a HCC student in good standing, without a degree. - Coursework:
Have completed the specific course you want to support, earning at least a B+. - Interpersonal skills:
Good communication, active listening, patience, empathy, teamwork, conflict resolution, and collaboration. - Technical skills:
Basic computer skills and Google apps (training will be provided), organization, time management, and planning. - Recommendation:
At least one faculty recommendation vouching for your proficiency in the course.
Part-Time, Non-Benefited Position
Hourly Rate: $15.00/hr. Hours: up to 18.5 hours/week. Funding: Perkins Grant
