  • Provide coverage across classrooms, grade levels, programs, duties, and other school settings based on daily needs.
  • Implement lesson plans and instructions provided by the classroom teacher with accuracy and consistency.
  • Maximize instructional time and actively engage students in meaningful learning throughout the school day.
  • Use clear directions, effective teaching strategies, and appropriate supports to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and well-organized classroom environment.
  • Use proactive, positive, and consistent classroom-management practices aligned with Morgan’s school wide expectations.
  • Supervise students carefully in classrooms and common areas to protect their health, safety, and well-being.
  • Follow all school and district policies, procedures, schedules, emergency protocols, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Promptly report student injuries, illnesses, accidents, safety concerns, or significant behavioral incidents to the appropriate staff member or administrator.
  • Protect school property, instructional materials, technology, equipment, and facilities.
  • Leave the classroom organized and return all materials, equipment, and keys to their designated locations.
  • Complete a Guest Teacher Report at the end of each assignment to communicate student progress, completed work, concerns, and relevant follow-up information to the classroom teacher.
  • Communicate professionally and collaborate effectively with teachers, support staff, administrators, students, and families.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by building administrators in accordance with school and district policies.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 60 college credits.
  • Availability to work at least three days per week.
  • Strong commitment to the academic success, belonging, and well-being of every student.
  • Ability to follow instructional plans, maintain established classroom routines, and adapt to changing school needs.
  • Strong classroom-management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a school wide team.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, sound judgment, reliability, and student confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an urban school community.
  • Experience supporting culturally, linguistically, and academically diverse student populations.
  • Ability to use student-learning information to adjust instruction and provide appropriate support.
  • Familiarity with inclusive practices, positive behavior supports, and differentiated instruction.
