- Responsible for processing requests for health information (medical records) in a timely manner and ensuring accuracy in the release of records.
- Responds to telephone, email, and facsimile inquiries.
- Validates requests and authorizations for release of information according to company procedures and HIPPA regulations.
- Work collaboratively with hospital departments to process all revisions and requests for medical records.
- Maintains patient medical records and ensures accurate documentation per requirements.
- Monitors medical record chart completion, data accuracy and completeness.
- Ensures HIPPA guidelines are followed.
Qualifications:
- High School or equivalency diploma
- One year experience in a health care facility working with medical records
