Psychiatric Nurse

Job Title: Float Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) – Days

Location: Holyoke, MA

Schedule: Days (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) | Every other weekend & holiday

We are seeking a compassionate and flexible Float Psychiatric RN to join a behavioral health team in Holyoke, MA. The RN will provide direct and indirect patient care within an inpatient psychiatric setting while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support individualized treatment plans. This role requires the ability to float to similar or lower-acuity units and take charge when needed.

• Deliver safe, patient-centered psychiatric nursing care using the nursing process
• Maintain a therapeutic and trauma-informed environment for patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
• Monitor patient progress, document interventions, and evaluate outcomes
• Support crisis intervention, de-escalation, and behavioral management
• Educate patients and families while maintaining professional boundaries
• Float to other units as needed and assume charge responsibilities when assigned

• Active Massachusetts RN license
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience required
• CPR/BLS certification required
• Experience with crisis intervention and behavioral health settings preferred
• Strong communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to manage stressful situations in a calm and professional manner
• 13-week assignment with day shifts
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• Must be willing to float within the facility
