Some clients eagerly engage in treatment. Others have spent years navigating serious mental illness, trauma, systemic barriers, and disappointment. They may be hesitant, guarded, or difficult to engage.

We are looking for a clinician who sees opportunity where others see obstacles.

Our outpatient behavioral health program serves adults living with serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI). We are seeking a skilled Master's-level or Licensed Clinician who is passionate about recovery-oriented care and has the experience, creativity, and resilience to engage clients who need more than traditional outpatient therapy.

This clinical role that combines individual services, group development and facilitation, community engagement, and relationship-building. What You'll Do Clinical Services
  • Maintain an outpatient caseload of adults with serious and persistent mental illness.
  • Provide individual therapy, assessment, treatment planning, and crisis intervention as needed.
  • Engage clients who may be ambivalent about treatment, difficult to reach, or have a history of inconsistent participation.
  • Utilize recovery-oriented, person-centered, and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Design, recruit for, launch, and facilitate therapeutic groups that address client needs and interests.
  • Develop strategies to improve participation and retention.
  • Foster safe, engaging, and inclusive group environments.
  • Track outcomes and participation to support program growth and effectiveness.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation that meets agency, regulatory, and payer requirements.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and consultations.
  • Coordinate care with providers, families, community partners, and support systems when appropriate.
  • Help identify innovative approaches that improve engagement and outcomes.

Qualifications Required
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Eligibility for independent or supervised clinical practice in Massachusetts.
  • Experience providing outpatient behavioral health services.
  • Experience facilitating or leading therapeutic groups.
  • Strong clinical documentation skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as applicable.
Preferred
  • LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, LADC, or comparable Massachusetts licensure.
  • Experience working with adults diagnosed with serious and persistent mental illness.
  • Familiarity with recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and evidence-based treatment approaches.
  • Experience with client engagement, outreach, and motivational interviewing.
Schedule & Flexibility

Availability may include:

  • Daytime hours
  • After-school and early evening hours
  • Occasional nights
  • Optional weekend availability

The schedule provides flexibility while supporting client access to care and group programming.
