Program Support Assistant/Direct Care Provider-Part Time Instructor The Baroco Corporation

Part-time | 22.5 hrs/week | $20.00/hr | Non-exempt

The Program Support Assistant/Instructor provides administrative support for the program site while helping adults with disabilities build the skills needed for greater independence in the program and community. This role combines office coordination, documentation, direct support, personal care, and individualized skill-building.

• Answer and appropriately direct incoming calls.
• Order and maintain office and program supplies, identify supply sources, and support accurate billing.
• Keep program schedules, lists, client attendance records, and recurring documentation current and accurate.
• Complete forms and daily, weekly, and month-end paperwork according to program priorities and policies.
• Provide support to the Health Care Supervisor with required month-end documentation.

• Support individualized and skill-building programs through supervision, planning, organization, implementation, and progress documentation in accordance with each participant's DHSP.
• Assist participants with activities of daily living, including personal care, ambulation, wheelchair transfers, lifting, and other direct care needs.
• Advocate for appropriate programming and the human rights of each participant.
• Participate in case reviews and contribute to interdisciplinary team discussions.
• Complete tasks delegated by the RN or Health Care Supervisor.

• Respond appropriately during critical incidents and emergencies, including behavioral interventions or restraints, and complete all related documentation promptly.
• Immediately report suspected participant abuse or neglect, unlawful harassment, safety concerns, and significant participant issues to a supervisor.
• Follow Baroco and OSHA fire, health, and safety procedures and perform all duties in a safe manner.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and supportive program environment.

• Maintain regular and punctual attendance; follow program schedules and attend required meetings.
• Build positive working relationships, cooperate with colleagues and community contacts, and contribute as a team member.
• Complete assigned training and maintain required certifications, including CPR, First Aid, and Safety-Care.
• Follow all company policies and standards of conduct, including dress code requirements.
• Complete errands and other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• High School Diploma or GED required; relevant bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least two years of related experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong typing, organizational, communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to organize, plan, sequence, and complete tasks independently.
• Ability to communicate and cooperate effectively with participants, coworkers, and the public and to respond calmly to individuals who may behave or speak aggressively.
• Ability to work with participants in indoor, outdoor, and in community settings.

• 33 paid days off annually, including 24 PTO days and 9 paid holidays.

• Ability to assist participants with ambulation, wheelchair transfers, personal care, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to intervene as needed in behavioral emergencies, including physical restraints.
