Job Title: Registered Nurse – Psychiatric Adolescent

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
Schedule: Full-Time; includes every other weekend and every other holiday
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of Psychiatric experience
Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and indirect care to adolescent patients in a behavioral health setting. The RN is responsible for maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment while collaborating with a multidisciplinary treatment team. This role involves contributing to individualized treatment plans, implementing appropriate nursing interventions, and documenting patient progress. Candidates must be willing to float to other units and take charge responsibilities when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct and indirect nursing care to adolescent psychiatric patients.
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment in accordance with behavioral health standards.
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Assess patient conditions, monitor progress, and update care plans as needed.
Document patient care and treatment outcomes in the electronic medical record.
Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation when necessary.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and legal guardians.
Support a collaborative, team-based care environment.
Float to other units and assume charge responsibilities when assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Massachusetts required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience required.
Previous inpatient psychiatric or substance use treatment experience preferred.
Experience with restraint reduction, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques preferred.
Certifications:
CPR certification required.
