Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner – Per Diem, Weekend Rounding

We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide weekend rounding and vacation coverage for our Admissions and Unit areas. The role involves comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
• Diagnose and treat mental health disorders.
• Prescribe medications and other treatments as necessary.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
• Document patient care in electronic medical records and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner Program.
• RN licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Massachusetts.
• Prior experience in a psychiatry setting is preferred but not required.
• MCSR and DEA licenses required.
• Advanced knowledge of medicine and expertise in child/adolescent and/or adult medicine.
• Knowledge of current ICD methodology.
• Skills in interpreting and applying standards and regulations applicable to behavioral health inpatient services (e.g., JC, CMS, DMH, DPH).
• Proficient in time management, problem‑solving, crisis management, and team‑building.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to providing high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and healthcare technology.
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
• Knowledge of current mental health laws and ethical standards.

$90.00 – $95.00 per hour, based on experience.
