Job Summary
LPN Resource Nurse – Job . The role reports to the Director of Health, Wellness & Nursing, Pupil Services Chief, and the Superintendent/Receiver. The nurse collaborates with school nurses, building administrators, and school personnel to maintain a healthy school environment and support district screening and disease‑control programs.
Responsibilities- Work under the general supervision of the District health leadership.
- Collaborate with the school nurse and building administrator.
- Maintain a healthful school environment with school personnel.
- Coordinate state‑mandated screening programs with school nurses.
- Participate in all aspects of the district’s screening program.
- Support the district’s response to communicable diseases such as flu, RSV, and COVID‑19.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date school health records.
- Administer medications and treatments per school policy and professional standards.
- Provide medically prescribed interventions for ill or injured children.
- Keep electronic SNAP records of all medications, treatments, and procedures administered to students.
- Document health‑related activities and treatments electronically each day.
- Maintain screening and medical equipment and supplies, ensuring proper function, storage, and availability.
- Act as a resource in health education for school personnel, students, and families.
- Use community resources to refer students with unmet health needs, including screening referrals and primary care provider referrals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of a Licensed Practical Nursing Program approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in pediatrics, community health, or other relevant clinical nursing settings.
- CPR certified.
- Valid driver’s license and personal transportation required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent teamwork skills.
- Current LPN licensure to practice nursing in Massachusetts.
Position Type:
Full‑time. Salary: $33.00 to $36.25 per hour.
