Description:

This is a beautiful state-of-the-art behavioral health unit completed 3 years ago. The unit has experienced staff with the lowest restraint rate in the state. It offers an excellent work environment with a full team of rehabilitation staff for group programming. There is also a social work staff and three unit psychiatrists available. The unit has a total of 46 beds, with a patient ratio of 1:9 for registered nurses.

Equipment available includes point-of-care blood glucose monitors and electronic health records systems. The patient population consists of adults aged 18 and over with a history of legal issues. This setting often serves as the last stop before community placement. Common diagnoses treated include bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, major depression, substance abuse, and chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and COPD.

The preferred personality traits include being trauma-informed, providing compassionate care, flexibility, confidence, and the ability to communicate effectively with others. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Dress code requires blue scrubs, with no open-toe shoes or provocative clothing permitted.
