This Travel Psychiatric Registered Nurse role offers the chance to work with a collaborative care team serving adult patients in a structured, secure environment. - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Hours:
40 - Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,120 - $2,230
- Start Date: September 1, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Unit Setting: Inpatient behavioral health / locked environment
- Patient Population: Adults 18 and over
- Orientation: Bi-weekly on Tuesdays
- Location: Holyoke, MA | Western Massachusetts healthcare jobs
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
- Experience working with mental health patients in a locked inpatient setting
- Experience in psychiatric nursing, behavioral health, or adult psych care preferred
- Ability to pass medications using automated medication systems
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Handle With Care certification or willingness to complete onsite if needed
- BSN preferred
- Compassionate, flexible, trauma-informed approach to patient care
- Provide direct nursing care to adults in an inpatient behavioral health unit
- Monitor patients with a range of psychiatric and medical needs, including bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, major depression, substance use, and chronic conditions
- Administer medications accurately and safely using automated medication systems
- Support a therapeutic, respectful, and structured milieu in a secure psychiatric setting
- Document care, assessments, and patient observations in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, rehab staff, and the broader interdisciplinary care team
- Respond to changing patient needs with professionalism, clinical judgment, and confidence
- Maintain a safe environment while promoting patient progress, dignity, and recovery
