DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Float Psychiatric RN for a 13-week evening assignment in an inpatient behavioral health hospital, requiring an active MA RN license and adult, adolescent, and geriatric inpatient psych experience.
Details- Inpatient psychiatric hospital setting treating adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with psychiatric, emotional, and substance use needs
- Evening shift (3p-11:30p), full-time 40 hours per week (8 hour shifts)
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Float to similar or lower acuity units as needed
- Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required, though 3 years of adult, adolescent, and geriatric inpatient psych experience preferred
- BSN preferred
- CPR certification required
- Comfortable using Electronic Medical Record systems
- Strong critical thinking, crisis management, and team building skills
- Provide direct and indirect care to psychiatric patients and their families within a multi-disciplinary treatment team
- Maintain a safe therapeutic milieu grounded in trauma-informed recovery principles
- Contribute to individualized patient treatment plans, including goal development and documentation
- Join a newly established, collaborative, and empowered psychiatric care team
- Work within an 84-bed inpatient hospital environment focused on psychiatric distress and co-occurring substance abuse treatment
