Work Location:

Job description:

We are seeking a Compliance and Quality Director to support a high-volume, ISO accredited cannabis testing laboratory serving Connecticut and Massachusetts. This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the lab's quality system, overseeing internal and external audits, and ensuring full compliance with ISO standards, state regulations, and Good Laboratory Practices. The position requires strong documentation control skills, the ability to manage/update SOPs and administrative processes, with a steady focus on sample integrity and accreditation requirements.

The Compliance and Quality Director works closely with the Chief Scientific Officer on special projects and plays a key role in supporting the lab's operational readiness. This is a hands-on position suited for someone who is organized, detail oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate brings experience with ISO 9001 or ISO 17025, a solid understanding of laboratory quality systems, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Internal Audits, including documentation, processes and procedures;
  • Manage External Audits by municipalities and accreditation bodies;
  • Write, maintain and review all SOPs, Instructions and administrative process to maintain sample integrity, certifications, licenses and accreditations;
  • Manage and review documentation control;
  • Maintain ISO compliance and follow Good Laboratory Practices;
  • Oversight of recorded data in logbooks/electronic systems;
  • Coordination of special projects with Chief Scientific Officer;
  • Ability to stay organized and multitask in a high volume, fast passed work environment;
  • Ability to work overtime to maintain compliance;
  • Ability to work well in a team environment;
  • Needs to be self-sufficient and work independently.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 5+ years exp; ISO experience required, 9001, ISO 17025 preferred.
  • CORE Compliance Platform experience preferred.
  • Analytical chemistry experience preferred.

Additional Requirements:

Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.

Working Conditions:

Required to perform basic math. Regularly required to perform to perform repetitive motions. May be required to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Job Type: Full-time
