Security Officer Per Diem

5 shifts per month, weekdays 5:15 am–1:15 pm.

As a Security Officer for Mira Vista in Holyoke, Massachusetts, you will perform general security work in the protection of persons, property, and the enforcement of all applicable policies, rules, and regulations of the department and any applicable federal, state, and local laws to prevent losses due to accidents and incidents.

Provide safety and security for patients, visitors, and staff on the hospital campus. Respond appropriately and carry out proper procedure for the Emergency Operations Plan, Security Operation Plan, and Emergency Codes.

• Perform general security work protecting persons and property.
• Enforce departmental policies, rules, and regulations.
• Respond to emergency situations and follow the Emergency Operations Plan.

• High school diploma.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in security or police.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent depth perception and side vision; must be free of night blindness.
• Ability to listen and hear machinery sound changes, whistles, cries for help, screams, alarms, and traffic noises.
• Ability to produce concise and accurate reports.
• Physically able to assist with the restraint of patients during crisis intervention.
• Problem‑solving on an independent basis.

Pay range: $17.00–$18.40 per hour, based on relevant experience.

Located in Holyoke and accessible from all major highways, we provide expert, patient‑focused psychiatric and substance‑use recovery treatment through a wide range of inpatient and outpatient programs.
