It is an exciting time to work at Mira Vista and in behavioral health! In order to meet the growing need for inpatient mental health and outpatient substance use treatment, we are growing and actively hiring for clinical and patient support positions.
As a Security Officer for Mira Vista in Holyoke, Massachusetts, you will perform general security work in the protection of persons, property and the enforcement of all applicable policies, rules and regulations of the department and any applicable federal, state, and local laws to prevent losses due to accidents and incidents. You will open the facility, man the metal detector, check ’s, maintain order in the facility, crowd control, observe the parking lot, document combative behavior, and provide safety for patients, visitors, and staff.
You will respond appropriately to and carry out proper procedure for the Emergency Operations Plan, Security Operation Plan, and Emergency Codes.
Responsibilities
- Open the facility and man the metal detector.
- Check IDs and maintain order throughout the facility.
- Perform crowd control, observe parking lot activity, and document combative behavior.
- Respond to emergency codes and execute the Emergency Operations Plan and Security Operation Plan.
- Assist with the restraint of patients during crisis intervention and problem solve independently.
- Produce concise and accurate reports.
Schedule
Weekends and/or weekdays 5:15 am – 1:15 pm
Qualifications
- High school Diploma.
- Minimum 1 year of security or police experience.
- Excellent depth perception and side vision; free of night blindness.
- Ability to listen for machinery sounds, whistles, cries for help, screams, alarms, and traffic noises.
- Physical ability to assist with the restraint of patients during crisis intervention.

Pay Range
$17.00–$18.40 per hour, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience.
