Heavy duty diesel mechanic

F. Sullivan Co. and MBA Trucking are seeking a competent, detail oriented heavy truck mechanic to join our growing team. We operate a fleet of late model, well maintained Western Star and Freightliner tractors, along with Mack and Western Star roll-off trucks. Our trailer fleet consists of walking floors, dumps, dry vans, and roll-off trailers.

Duties and expectations of this position are as follows:

• At minimum, a basic, competent understanding of heavy truck repair, and essential systems
• Ability to execute a very thorough PM service and inspection, while identifying needed repairs, both immediate and preventative
• Detailed record keeping of services, repairs, and parts inventory, using an online based system
• Air brake system diagnostics and repair, to include a full understanding of systems and their proper operation
• Electrical systems diagnostics, repair, and understanding
• Diesel engine diagnostics, repair, and understanding preferred. Detroit, Mack, Cummins and Caterpillar
• Knowledge of aftertreatment systems, diagnostics and repair
• Hydraulic system diagnostics, repair, and understanding
• Ability to use diagnostic software preferred. Jpro, Diagnostic Link, CAT ET, Premium Tech Tool, etc.
• Ability to weld is a plus
• Knowledge of walking floor trailer and heavy equipment repair is a plus
• Must take pride in his or her work, and maintain only the highest standard of quality
