Title: Senior Backend Java Developer (with UI exposure)
Location: Greater Holyoke Area, MA (Hybrid – 2 days onsite)
Employment Type: Contract

About the Role
Join a high-impact engineering team responsible for building and supporting enterprise-grade applications used in a mission-critical environment. This role focuses on backend-heavy Java development with exposure to frontend components and cloud-based integrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java 17/21 applications using Spring (MVC / Spring Boot)
- Build and support RESTful APIs and microservices-based solutions
- Develop and optimize Oracle SQL queries, schemas, and high-volume tables
- Implement messaging and integration workflows using Apache Camel, JMS, ActiveMQ
- Write and maintain unit tests using JUnit and Mockito
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 17/21 and Spring Framework
- Solid background in Oracle database development and SQL performance tuning
- Experience with AWS services (ECS, S3, SQS preferred)
- Understanding of microservices architecture and enterprise integrations
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and Spring Batch is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Compensation (MA Pay Transparency)
- Estimated hourly range: $60–$65/hr (W-2)
- Final rate within this range will be based on skills, experience, and interview results.
