Accounting & Payroll Manager

Location: Fairbanks, AK
Pay: Starting at $28-$35/hour DOE
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Thursday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

TDL Staffing is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting & Payroll Manager to support the financial and administrative operations of a nonprofit organization in Fairbanks. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing accounting, payroll, reporting, and operational support responsibilities while helping maintain accurate and compliant financial systems.

The right candidate will be highly organized, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position plays an important role in supporting day-to-day financial operations, payroll administration, grant compliance, and overall office coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and financial records
  • Administer accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes
  • Prepare financial reports, journal summaries, and audit documentation
  • Assist with budget tracking, projections, and financial reporting
  • Maintain employee payroll records, deductions, leave tracking, and benefit administration
  • Process invoices, timesheets, payroll taxes, and related financial documentation
  • Support annual CPA and grant-related audits
  • Maintain organized financial files and accounting system records
  • Assist with general office administration and operational support as needed

Experience with nonprofit or grant accounting, as well as familiarity with accounting software systems, is helpful but not required.

Minimum Requirements
  • 5+ years of accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and bookkeeping functions
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive financial information
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required for permanent employment opportunity
