Part-Time Library Tech

The City of Homer is looking for a Part‑Time Library Technician I to join our team.

The Library Tech I is a 24-hour / week position.

Responsibilities include:

• Staffing the public service desk, shelving materials, and assisting library patrons.
• Completing other support tasks, including assisting other staff with public programming or maintenance of materials.

Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited two‑year college or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of one year recent paid experience in public-facing work, preferably in a library setting.
• Knowledge of standard library functions and organization; general reference materials and search techniques;
  Dewey Decimal classification system; use of online catalog; customer service principles and techniques; reference and reader's advisory.
• Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, modern office equipment and general office procedures.
• Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing.
