Job Description & How to Apply Below

This is a temporary position supporting a critical startup phase, with an initial duration of 6 months and potential for extension depending on project needs.

This role will play a key part in the transition from project execution to safe, reliable operations across a central processing facility, seawater treatment plant for injection, and drill site. As part of the Engineering Team, the Rotating Equipment Engineer will work closely with Production Operations, Maintenance, HSE, and Project and Commissioning Teams to ensure a disciplined, safe, and efficient startup and handover.

ESSENTIAL

DUTIES
  • Promote and lead in the implementation of Company policies and procedures, including Safety, health, environment, process, people and planning.
  • Commissioning and Startup

    Activities:

Support commissioning, pre-startup safety reviews, and startup of rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, turbines, and generators. Participate in system walkdowns, punch listing, mechanical completion verification, and review vendor documentation, test procedures, and commissioning plans to confirm completeness and operational readiness.
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:
Provide on-site troubleshooting and technical support during startup and early operations. Diagnose issues related to vibration, alignment, lubrication, seals, and equipment performance to ensure reliable operation and address emerging concerns promptly.
  • Installation and Change Management:
Ensure proper installation practices such as alignment, grouting, and coupling setup for rotating equipment. Support the Management of Change (MOC) process for equipment or design modifications to maintain integrity and compliance.
  • Procedures and Maintenance Strategy Development:
Support the development of operating and maintenance procedures for rotating equipment. Assist in establishing maintenance strategies including preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and longevity.
  • Coordination and Vendor Interface:
Interface with vendors and subject matter experts to resolve complex technical issues. Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Commissioning teams to align priorities and deliver integrated solutions.
  • Safety and Compliance:
Promote safety and ensure compliance with site standards and regulatory requirements for all rotating equipment activities.
  • Be a hands‑on, field‑based engineer supporting commissioning through early operations.
  • Provide calm, practical troubleshooting during high‑pressure startup conditions.
  • Bridge the gap between project execution and Operations ownership.
  • Ensure rotating equipment is transitioned into reliable, sustainable operation.
  • Bring a reliability mindset, not just a commissioning mindset.
  • Identify gaps early and proactively drive resolution rather than reacting late.
  • Work effectively across disciplines and influence without direct authority.
  • Maintain strong field presence and build trust with Operations and Maintenance teams.
  • Support AES zero‑incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
  • Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.

  • 8+ years of experience in oil and gas or similar industrial environments
  • Direct experience supporting commissioning and startup of new facilities
  • Strong background in rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, turbines, and generators
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting experience in live operating environments
  • Experience working in remote or field‑based operations environments
  • Familiarity with PSSR, commissioning processes, and startup workflows
  • Experience working with OEMs and vendors during installation and startup
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
