Job Summary
Brice Engineering LLC is hiring a Professional Land Surveyor in Alaska. The position is a full‑time regular role with an annual salary range of $65,000 to $85,000.
ResponsibilitiesUse surveying equipment and spatial data to support environmental and construction projects. Key tasks include:
- Operate RTK GPS survey equipment, total station, and other surveying tools for various environmental projects.
- Collect and manage survey data, conduct differential leveling, and produce layout locations and topographic surveys.
- Process field data, ensure data quality, and input coordinates into databases.
- Develop geodatabases and produce maps using ESRI ArcGIS Standard, ArcGIS Pro, and AutoCAD tools (Civil3D, Map3D, Raster Design). Incorporate AutoCAD drawings into ArcGIS mapping.
- Prepare maps with point, line, and polygon datasets, apply proper mapping projections and coordinate transformations, and maintain metadata.
- Maintain cartographic standards, ensuring accurate scaling and engineering design.
- Current Professional Land Surveyor license from the State of Alaska.
- At least 8 years of experience in a survey crew.
- Associate of Science degree in survey engineering, land surveying, geodesy, remote sensing, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and Microsoft Access.
- Strong knowledge of map projections, vertical and geodetic datums, coordinate transformations, and technical aspects of converting field data to maps.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments with competing deadlines.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills.
- Experience in construction surveying, machine‑control modeling, and civil construction projects.
