Supply Chain Planning Systems Lead - Chicago, IL
Contract‑to‑Hire: 6‑month contract with potential to convert to full‑time. About the Role
We’re looking for a Supply Chain Planning Systems Lead to drive the delivery and implementation of end‑to‑end planning solutions across demand planning, supply planning, and finite scheduling. You’ll work across multiple business units to execute projects, drive adoption, and deliver measurable business value.
What You’ll Do- Strategy & Planning
:
Assess current processes, systems, and data across business units - Support platform evaluations and fit‑gap analysis for supply chain planning tools
- Help define project scope, success metrics, and high‑level solution direction
- Identify risks and integration challenges between ERP and legacy systems
- Evaluate data readiness and integration complexity
- Solution Design & Delivery
:
Lead design and implementation of planning solutions for demand, supply, and scheduling - Facilitate workshops to gather requirements and translate them into functional/technical designs
- Oversee configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and hyper‑care support
- Partner with supply chain, manufacturing, commercial, and IT teams, plus external system integrators
- Ensure solutions meet GxP, validation, and regulatory requirements
- Drive standardization while accommodating unique business needs
- Recommend continuous process improvements
- Data & Integration
:
Support data migration, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation - Ensure data quality and readiness across ERP and legacy systems
- Assist with testing and validation of data flows and integrations
- 8+ years’ experience with supply chain planning systems in demand, supply, or scheduling
- Hands‑on experience with leading supply chain planning platforms
- Strong understanding of life sciences/manufacturing supply chain and production processes
- Experience integrating planning tools with ERP systems
- Proven ability to deliver large programs and execute data strategies
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working in regulated environments with validation/GxP requirements preferred
