Senior Network Engineer IS - Remote
This Senior Network Engineer role sits within Providence's Clinical Communications and Voice Services engineering organization and is responsible for the design, operation, and modernization of enterprise communication platforms that directly support patient care. The position goes beyond traditional network engineering and focuses on the reliability, integration, and evolution of systems that enable caregiver communication and clinical workflows across acute and ambulatory environments.
This engineer operates across an integrated ecosystem including nurse call, clinical middleware, operator consoles, contact center platforms, paging solutions, SIP communications, and unified communications. The role carries responsibility for ensuring these platforms are resilient, highly available, and aligned to evolving clinical and operational needs, while partnering closely with engineering, operations, and clinical teams to drive modernization and improve service reliability.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 years of related experience
- Experience in automation, specifically related to deployment, recovery, or other manual processes.
- Experience with n-tier solutions.
- Experience with resilience modeling (failure mode analysis) and ability to simulate service outages for point solutions (automated) and platforms (manually).
- Experience influencing software engineering team members in translating customer and technical requirements into service architecture to meet Quality of Service Expectations.
- Experience leading and representing the Service in backlog discussions and standups to establish appropriate prioritization of Live Site requirements.
- Good experience leveraging data and metrics to drive behavior, process, and priority decisions. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Experience in problem solving using systematic procedures and investigating problems utilizing root cause analysis.

- Experience in a Healthcare environment.
