ESI is now hiring an Aviation/Drones Instructor in the Miami, Florida area for the school year.
POSITION SUMMARYESI is seeking an Aviation/Drones Instructor who is responsible for imparting knowledge and skills related to aviation and drone technology to students in grades 6-12. This position will not only focus on delivering engaging curriculum but also on fostering a passion for aviation science and technology among students. The teacher will collaborate with school leadership, fellow educators, and the community to enhance student learning experiences and promote STEM education.
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in Education, Aviation, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field required
- Possession of a Florida Educator Certification in corresponding subject area or Statement of Status of Eligibility showing eligible status in such subject area required.
- At least (1) year of successful teaching experience in STEM, aviation, or a related technical field
- Strong background in drone piloting, robotics, or aerospace engineering
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and diverse environment
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently.
- Ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend, climb, crawl, push a cart, or lift during the entire shift.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, including small packages and supplies.
- Ability to pass Level 2 background check.
- Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
- Deliver engaging lessons on aviation principles, drone operation, and technology, promoting hands-on experiences and real-world applications.
- Develops schemes of work, lesson plans and tests that are in accordance with established procedures.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Ensure the safe operation of drones and compliance with FAA regulations while teaching students about aviation safety and ethics.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
- Provide appropriate feedback on work.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
- Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations.
- Prepare required reports on students and activities.
- Participate in department, school, district and parent meetings.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Prepare classroom for class activities.
- Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
- Observe and evaluate students' performance and development.
- Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments.
- Any other duties as assigned.
