F-Avionics Technician III

Position: F-16 Avionics Technician III
Work Schedule:

* Monday through Friday

* Currently 1st shift, but must be able to work 1st or 2nd shift

Description:

Responsible for depot-level modification, upgrade, & test of aircraft sub-systems, ensuring airworthiness. Duties include, but are not limited to, inspecting, testing, modifying, and repairing avionic as well as other electrical systems/sub-systems. Examples include radar, radio, navigation, and aircraft power systems/sub-systems.

What you will be responsible for:

* Modifies, upgrades, inspects, tests, adjusts, and repairs aircraft avionic and electrical systems, such as aircraft installed radar, radio, navigation, and power systems using hand tools and test equipment

* Inspects components of avionic and electrical systems and equipment for defects, such as loose connections and frayed wire, and for accuracy of assembly and installation

* Tests avionic and electrical systems under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness, using test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital meters and counters, and circuit analyzers

* Using hand tools, adjusts, repairs, and/or replaces defective components based on analysis of test results, following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents

* When required, calibrates installed, modified, or repaired systems and/or equipment to prescribed specifications

* When required, operates ground servicing equipment to operationally test, inspect, and verify functionality and air worthiness of avionic and other electrical systems

* When required, assist in fabricating wiring harnesses

* Accurately document all required U.S. Government and program forms and documents, including electronic records

* Must effectively interact with program and customer representatives as well as on-site business or military representatives

* Perform other duties as assigned

What you will need to be successful in this role:

* Must meet one of the following requirements:

* A Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of related experience in avionics maintenance.

* An Associate's degree plus 4 years of related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance.

* High School Diploma plus 8 years of related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance.

* F-16 experience is strongly preferred, but other fighter jet experience may be considered.

* At least a 7 Skill Level or equivalent is strongly preferred.

* 5th generation aircraft experience is a plus.

* Microsoft Office Suite skills are preferred.

* Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance is required.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

* Must be able to lift and carry parts, tooling, and other awkward items sometimes weighing greater than 50 lbs, including walking up and down stairs, aircraft maintenance stands, and platforms

* Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday

* Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
