EHS Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced EHS Specialist to support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) operations at a rapidly growing advanced manufacturing facility. This role will assist in implementing and maintaining a comprehensive EHS management system across manufacturing, testing, storage, and operational activities.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in high-reliability industrial environments and brings a strong understanding of regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure safe and compliant operations.

Key Responsibilities

* Support daily EHS operations across manufacturing, testing, warehousing, and facility functions

* Assist with implementation and continuous improvement of the EHS management system

* Conduct facility inspections, safety observations, and risk assessments

* Help develop and enforce EHS policies, procedures, and work instructions

* Support Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), standard operating procedures, and emergency response plans

* Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations

* Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking

* Maintain documentation required for audits, reporting, and regulatory compliance

* Contribute to internal audits, safety initiatives, and continuous improvement programs

* Support hazard identification and mitigation across manufacturing and operational processes

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and facilities

* Assist with EHS reporting, KPI tracking, and safety performance analysis

Qualifications

Education:

* Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field (required)

* Relevant EHS certifications (e.g., ASP, CSP, CHMM) are a plus

Experience:

* A minimum of 3-7 years of experience in EHS within manufacturing, industrial, or technical environments

* Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and standard safety practices

* Experience with hazard assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, energy, or similar regulated industries

* Familiarity with hazardous materials, chemical safety, or high-energy systems

* Knowledge of environmental compliance programs and permitting requirements

* Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 standards

* Exposure to facility startup, expansion, or high-growth operational environments

Soft Skills:

* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

* Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

* Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and reporting

* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Technology Stack:

* Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

* EHS management and reporting systems

* Incident tracking and compliance software (as applicable)

Physical Requirements

* Ability to work in both office and industrial/manufacturing environments

* Ability to use a computer for extended periods

* Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

* Ability to walk production floors and access operational areas as needed

* Occasional lifting of up to 25-30 pounds

* Ability to perform inspections, including climbing stairs or ladders as needed
