Aircraft Overhaul LEADER Security Clearance

Position: AIRCRAFT OVERHAUL LEADER with Security Clearance
Duties The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) work leader and aircraft dedicated crew chief over a crew of three or more workers/mechanics. In this capacity, the work leader/crew chief coordinates and oversees all maintenance/periodic inspections performed on his/her assigned aircraft. While performing such duties is considered as being the technical authority of the assigned aircraft, providing instructional guidance, making work arrangements, and insuring the production pace is maintained.

Performs non-leader trades and labor work as a member of the work crew along with providing training in the accomplishment of duties and responsibilities.
* Serves as a Work Leader/Dedicated Crew Chief of assigned aircraft, responsible for coordinating and/or overseeing maintenance, troubleshooting, positioning and servicing of the aircraft.
* Performs or oversees aircraft inspections including preflight, post flight, phase, acceptance, and other scheduled and unscheduled inspections. Assigns work to individuals and provides technical direction and/or help in accomplishing difficult work steps and processes.
* Provides technical supervision on production matters to all employees assigned to the crew/team.
* Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area.
* Certifies work produced under the USAF Technical Order Program. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

* This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
* Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays

* Must be a current member of the AF Reserve or willing/qualified to join

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WL-8800 Aircraft Overhaul Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is the ability to perform the work of an AIRCRAFT OVERHAUL LEADER with little or no supervision. JOB ELEMENTS:
