Senior Cybersecurity Systems Analyst – Homestead Reserve Airbase, Miami
The role provides Assessment and Authorization (A&A) support within the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for networks, systems, services and devices at US Special Operations Command South. The incumbent performs comprehensive risk assessments, compliance validation, and vulnerability evaluations to ensure systems maintain confidentiality, integrity and availability in accordance with DoD, DIA and NSA regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate RMF activities and develop Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms) for resolving network deficiencies.
- Assess network compliance against NIST
800‑53 controls and create A&A packages for the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) and Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). - Conduct assessment, compliance and validation of IT systems across USSOCOM, Component Commands, TSOCs and deployed forces.
- Perform vulnerability assessments using ACAS, Nessus, and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) tools; identify applicable STIGs.
- Collaborate with network and system administrators to remediate identified deficiencies.
- Scan for new systems and applications introduced into the SOF environment, draft certification letters, and ensure compliance with DISA STIGs.
- Track A&A status of SIE‑governed Information Systems and maintain documentation in the USSOCOM‑selected automated tool.
- Maintain, validate and update DISN, cloud and DIA connection approval packages and ensure they are available for audit.
- Develop and sustain an Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) plan, addressing ongoing awareness of security controls and threats.
- Coordinate with USCYBERCOM, DoD, DIA, NSA and DISA to resolve security, A&A or waiver issues.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise on COA development and implementation of cybersecurity mitigation strategies.
- Perform analytics on cybersecurity posture, producing reports for authorizing officials and stakeholders.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity or related fields.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required.
- Current DoD 8570.01‑M, IAT‑LevelIII or IAM‑LevelIII. Preferred certifications: CISSP (or Associate), CASP+CE, CISA, CISM, CCISO, GCED, GCIH, CCSP, GSLC.
- Knowledge of RMF, NIST
800‑53, DoD IA processes (DODI
8510.01, CNSS, CJCSM
65101.01) and STIG implementation. - Experience with cyber network defense tools (endpoint security, SIEM, COMPLY‑to‑Connect) and vulnerability assessment tools (ACAS, Nessus).
- System administration background, including Windows, Linux, networking and database environments.
- Experience with Telos Xacta or Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Services (eMASS) is desired.
- Active TS/SCI clearance required; U.S. citizenship required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work with all levels of management.
- Ability to travel up to 10% and operate independently.
- Base salary range: $67,000 – $103,000.
