Aquatic Maintenance Technician

Responsible for the modification, repair, refurbishment, and preventative maintenance of rides and equipment in waterpark or aquatics facilities. This role ensures safe operation, water quality, system functionality, and compliance with health and safety standards.

• Conduct daily pre‑opening inspections of waterslides and pools to identify safety or performance issues.
• Ensure pools are chemically balanced in accordance with state and local health codes and park standards.
• Respond to trouble calls, diagnose, and correct mechanical and electrical issues.
• Perform repairs and service per manufacturer specifications.
• Carry out preventive maintenance tasks such as painting, battery replacement, smoke detector checks, HVAC cleaning, door/lock repair, plumbing, drywall repair, basic carpentry, and electrical repairs.
• Schedule repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to keep operations continuous.
• Use appropriate PPE for all tasks.
• Maintain storage areas, shops, and mechanical spaces clean, organized, and secure.
• Complete repair work orders promptly.
• Keep maintenance staff and park leadership informed of current issues.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by leadership.

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; equivalent work experience considered.
• 2+ years of maintenance or mechanical experience highly desirable.
• 1–2 years of experience at a waterpark, swimming pool, or other aquatics facility preferred.
• Working knowledge of water chemistry, pumps, and motors.
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English;
  Spanish or another language is a plus.

• Minimum age 18 to comply with PA Child Labor Laws.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and closing shifts.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Practical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, carpentry, pumps, and motors.
• Ability to read and understand ride maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with fiberglass and other water slide structures is a plus.
• Knowledge of state and local codes related to aquatics attractions.

• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, or squat for extended periods.
• Ability to remain on feet for the majority of the workday.
• Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 75 pounds or more.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, above ground level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manlifts.
• Ability to use hands to grasp, control, and move objects or tools.
• Good color vision and detail perception at a distance.

• Frequent exposure to water and pool cleaning chemicals.
• Variable outdoor temperatures including heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, and other weather.
• Repetitive motions, high noise levels, vibrations, motorized equipment, and chemical exposure.
• Potential exposure to blood borne pathogens; proper PPE required.
• Work at heights greater than 100 feet in certain duties.
