Corner Workers are stationed at various points around the racetrack and are responsible for observing and monitoring track conditions and communicating with drivers by using flags to warn of track conditions and provide assistance in case of collisions, accidents or track problems.
Responsibilities- Observe, monitor, and assess track surface conditions.
- Observe competitors for driving behavior and their cars’ mechanical condition.
- Provide consistent information to drivers using racing flags and signals.
- May be called to assist during an accident.
- Communicate information to Race Control, stewards, Operations, and emergency medical responders.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Racing knowledge.
- Bilingual, native in English and Spanish.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and radio communication skills.
- Willingness to work days, nights, weekends, occasional holidays and special events.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all non‑life‑threatening weather conditions (heat, cold, light rain, etc.).
- Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
- Attendance at mandatory annual training and completion of required online training initially and annually.
