Position Summary
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure the safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures by following established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines.
Responsibilities- Inspect, clean, and repair facilities, equipment, or fixtures and document signs of wear and tear.
- Gather capital expense information, recommend repair needs, and determine replacement needs.
- Document all preventive maintenance activities.
- Perform major and minor repairs using multiple craft skills such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling, and food equipment.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues; dismantle equipment to access and remove defective parts.
- Use hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment; respond promptly to emergency calls.
- Install electrical panels, breakers, switches, outlets, lighting systems, and conduit while ensuring compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes (NEC).
- Serve as a technical subject‑matter expert and lead for electrical systems, designing and planning solutions for large‑scale repairs or modifications.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to Journeyman and Apprentice Electricians and other maintenance associates; conduct training on electrical techniques, code requirements, and safety protocols (including Arc Flash safety).
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors; handle expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, and maintenance logs; conduct price comparisons of parts and travel costs.
- Order parts and replacement equipment, track orders, record purchases and usage, and submit warranty claims.
- Comply with OSHA and EPA regulations; ensure quality work meets federal, state, and local regulations and Walmart quality standards.
- Unload, store, and transport equipment between facilities.
- Lead and participate in teams, coordinating and executing work assignments while providing feedback and support to meet timelines and quality standards.
- Maintain a safe work environment, observe and adhere to all safety policies and procedures, and report all safety violations.
- Maintain vehicles in working mechanical condition, coordinate required maintenance, and ensure documentation and insurance coverage.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation approximately every 4–6 weeks, responding promptly to incidents or requests during off‑hours.
- Operate, inspect, and maneuver heavy machinery and powered equipment, performing pre‑operation safety checks, post‑operation inspections, and identifying unsafe conditions.
- Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships with key stakeholders, identifying business needs, and adapting to competing demands and organizational changes.
- 21 years of age or older.
- 5 years’ experience in the electrical trade (Master‑level experience preferred).
- Licensed Master Electrician in good standing or equivalent in the state of work.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
- Eligibility for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Completion of a 2‑year Vocational or Technical trade program.
- Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- License in related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience.
