Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or CFY status with supervision.
  • Strong clinical skills in evaluation and treatment of dysphagia, cognitive-linguistic deficits, and communication disorders.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of residents with speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and physician orders.
  • Provide direct therapy services targeting communication skills, cognitive-linguistic functioning, and safe swallowing.
  • Perform and interpret swallow assessments and make diet modification recommendations.
  • Document all evaluations, treatments, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with state, federal, and facility guidelines.
  • Educate residents, families, and staff on therapy plans, communication strategies, and safe swallowing techniques.
  • Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing to resident-centered goals.
  • Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on resident progress and functional outcomes.
