Job Summary:
Provides specialized speech-language pathology services to patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders. Develops and implements individualized treatment plans to improve patient outcomes in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities:
- Screen, evaluate, and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
- Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to guide clinical interventions.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans accordingly, documenting changes in medical records.
- Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other health professionals.
- Communicate regularly with supervisors and team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment goals.
- Complete comprehensive discharge summaries and ensure all documentation complies with regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Valid Texas State Speech-Language Pathologist license required.
- ASHA certification and CCC-SLP required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an SLP, preferably in LTC or rehab settings.
- Ability to supervise and support CFY or student SLPs.
- Strong understanding of ASHA and State practice acts, ethics, and code of conduct.
- Willingness to participate in required training, meetings, and conferences.
