POSITIONPURPOSE:
Relieves the Director of Radiology and other medical personnel of administrative, clerical, and technical work by performing the following duties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Compiles and records medical charts, and reports.
- Enters exams into the hospital’s computer systems and program it when new software arrives.
- Answers telephone, schedules appointments, and greets and directs patients, salespeople, and visitors.
- Translates instructions to Spanish speaking patients.
- Instructs new patients in completion of information forms.
- Instructs patients as to preps necessary for scheduled exams.
- Confirms patients' insurance eligibility with insurance companies when needed.
- Files and obtains records as necessary from x-ray film storage facility.
- Copies all films when necessary and complies with subpoenas for x-ray films.
- Transport patients to and from other areas of the hospital and imaging.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
