Technology Support Level 1 - District Wide Primary Purpose
Perform on-site technical work, installing and maintaining computer equipment and network and software applications throughout the district. Respond to work order requests by diagnosing and repairing network and computer hardware.
Qualifications Education and Certification- Associate degree in information technology or electronics or 48 college hours in the field (preferred).
- A+, Google, and/or Windows certifications (preferred).
- Knowledge of Windows workstations and Chromebook/Chromebox devices.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications.
- Ability to install, maintain, and repair computers and peripherals.
- Ability to install and maintain network cables and hardware.
- Ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under stressful situations.
- Ability to pass a national criminal history check.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals in a professional manner.
- One year of experience installing, maintaining, and repairing computers and peripherals.
- Install and upgrade computers and peripherals throughout the district.
- Assist with installation of network cabling and network peripherals.
- Relocate computer hardware, peripherals, and equipment as needed with proper asset inventory documentation.
- Install and configure software as needed.
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of data communications circuits and equipment.
- Assist in managing network resources/administrative systems as assigned.
- Diagnose and repair equipment, including projectors, desktops, laptops, and display boards.
- Service equipment according to an established preventive maintenance schedule.
- Maintain accurate updated records of preventive maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs and service.
- Aid end users to identify and correct equipment and software related problems.
- Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety procedures.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, and carrying.
- Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to the supervisor immediately.
- Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
- Tools/Equipment Used: Hand tools and test instruments for electronic repairs and cable installations; personal computers and peripherals.
- Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; regular kneeling, squatting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
- Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; regular walking, grasping, squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching; may climb ladders.
- Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying up to 44 pounds; occasional heavy lifting over 45 pounds.
- Environment: Exposure to electrical hazards; occasional prolonged and irregular hours; frequent district wide travel.
- Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
Full‑time
Salary$22.45 to $31.71 per hour
