PURPOSE:

Provides health care services to patients under the direction and responsibility of a Physician.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
* Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal.
* Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and manages infections.
* Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
* Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimen, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
* Follows up on patients’ messages, prescription refills, and test results for themselves and the doctors to give a timely response to the patient.
* This job supervises Clinic personnel in all delegated or directive medical care duties.## Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS &

EDUCATION:

* Current Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse.
* Current Texas Licensure as an APRN-NP, and specialty certification as required by department.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified within 30 days of hire.
* Master’s in nursing as NP or Master’s degree in Nursing with completion of a post-master Nurse Practitioner Certification Program.
