Accounting Manager

Description We are looking for a highly skilled Accounting Manager to oversee and streamline financial operations within our organization. Based in Honolulu, Hawaii, this role is pivotal in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in accounting practices while supporting strategic financial goals. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing accounting teams and processes, along with a proactive approach to improving workflows.

Responsibilities:

- Manage daily accounting functions, including oversight of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.

- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and schedules to support month-end financial closures.

- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure timely reporting.

- Develop and present internal financial reports and statements for management review.

- Organize and maintain accounting records and documentation to comply with company policies and standards.

- Compile and analyze financial data to support budgeting and forecasting efforts.

- Collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals by providing necessary documentation and support.

- Monitor job costing and assist operational teams with cost analysis and reconciliations.

- Manage vendor and customer records, ensuring billing and payment accuracy.

- Provide leadership and guidance to accounting staff, assigning tasks and ensuring priorities are met. Requirements

- Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting.

- Strong proficiency in preparing account reconciliations and journal entries.

- Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise accounting teams effectively.

- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

- Solid understanding of budgeting and forecasting practices.

- Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.

- Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external auditors.

- Ability to answer phones and provide excellent customer service

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
