Position: ACCOUNTANT I (SPECIALIST)

Job Summary

The Accountant I (Specialist) reports to the Senior Accounting Officer (Supervisor) and performs semi‑professional accounting work and account maintenance for the Unemployment Insurance (UI) and Disability Insurance (DI) programs.

Key Responsibilities

Review and reconcile benefit payments and over payments, including processing remittances, adjustments, transfers, and other accounting transactions.
Utilize databases, spreadsheets, and benefit accounting reports to analyze information from Federal, State, and Departmental sources.
Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the UI and DI Trust Funds.
Adapt to frequent workload changes based on organizational priorities.
Work at the EDD office located in Rancho Cordova and remotely; telework is hybrid.
