Role OverviewThe Plaza is hiring a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support daily financial operations, including AP/AR, payroll, monthly reconciliations, General Excise Tax (GET) reporting, and month-end close.
Key ResponsibilitiesAP/AR & Billing:
Process weekly invoices, vendor payments, resident billings, cash receipts, and trust account transfers. Reconcile vendor statements.
General Ledger & Month-End:
Post recurring journal entries, perform GL and bank/credit card reconciliations, and help prepare monthly financial packets.
Payroll & Tax:
Review payroll, balance benefit reports, issue manual checks, and prepare monthly General Excise Tax (GET) filings.
Operations & Admin:
Oversee credit card expense reporting, support community office managers with billing queries, and assist with basic office administration.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR equivalent practical experience.
Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office.
Must meet company health and physical requirements (including communicable disease clearance).
Preferred:Bachelor’s in accounting.
3+ years in accounting; 1+ year in high-volume AP/AR.
Experience with Sage Intacct, Point Click Care , and Enquire.
Advanced Excel skills.
Physical RequirementsFrequent sitting/standing; occasional bending, reaching, and light lifting.
