The Liquor Commission is looking for a meticulous Liquor Commission Support Technician! This full‑time, permanent role in Honolulu involves serving as a hearings technician to the Liquor Commission by preparing hearing agendas, summaries, and official minutes, and providing administrative support to Commissioners and staff in support of Commission business.
WhatYou Will Do
- Ensure compliance with Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 92 by properly noticing, recording, documenting, and publishing all Commission meetings and hearings.
- Record and document Commission hearings by operating audio/visual equipment, taking accurate notes, and producing official minutes and summaries.
- Prepare and distribute meeting materials including board packets, agendas, adjudication folders, and supporting documents for Commissioners and staff.
- Manage public access to records and notices by posting agendas, minutes, summaries, and hearing recordings to the agency website within statutory timelines.
- Maintain accurate hearing records and archives by editing, exporting, uploading, and certifying official audio/video files and written summaries.
- Draft and process official correspondence including notices, agendas, and letters related to liquor license applications and Commission actions.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
- Work schedule is Monday - Friday from 7:45 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
- May be required to work overtime, late afternoons and evenings based on operational needs.

Education RequirementEquivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
Experience Requirement- Three (3) years of clerical experience,
- One (1) year of which shall have involved transcribing minutes of legal, board, or commission meetings, conferences, hearings and/or other similar proceedings.
Substitution:
Business school or college will substitute on a month‑for‑month basis for up to two (2) years of the general clerical experience. (
