Job Title: Personnel Assistant I
This position performs a variety of general personnel clerical tasks (employee records, benefits, education, training, employment/staffing, compensation, employee labor relations, and EEO/affirmative action). The Person nel Assistant may conduct surveys and update manual and automated personnel records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform general personnel clerical tasks including employee records, benefits, education, training, staffing, compensation, labor relations, and U.S. equal‑employment‑opportunity/affirmative‑action matters.
- Conduct surveys and update manual and automated personnel records.
- Operate general office equipment such as typewriter, personal computer, copier, adding machine, and facsimile.
- Assist in processing identification issuance requests, issuing identification badges for building and system access, DoD CAC Card issuance, and certificates of completion for required DEERS/RAPIDS training.
- Maintain active knowledge of DoD CAC card issuance policies and procedures and technical Exhibit 5‑6.
- Adhere to all federal, DoD, and internal policies and procedures while exercising discretion and limited judgment as required.
- Citizenship and Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen and clearable to obtain a federal clearance. Initiated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) and completion of FBI fingerprint check or eDoD‑determined equivalent investigation required.
- Education: Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Preferred minimum two years of administrative military personnel experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English, and effectively respond, communicate, and present information to clients and other employees. - Reasoning Ability: Ability to organize work, set priorities, collect data, establish facts, analyze situations, and formulate a plan of action. Participate in prioritization and decision‑making for resource allocation.
- Licenses & Registrations: Must possess a valid U.S. state driver’s license applicable to the type and class of vehicle operated.
- Physical Demands: Reasonable accommodations may be made. Regularly required to sit and talk or hear. Vision: close, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment required.
- Work Environment: Primarily office environment with occasional travel to off‑site projects, outdoors, warehouses, supply points, motor pools, or maintenance facilities for short periods.
- Qualifications: Operational knowledge and/or experience in processing identification issuance requests, issuing badges, DoD CAC Card issuance policies, and certificates of completion for required DEERS/RAPIDS training by the end of the Phase‑I period.
